Even as heavy rains forced the suspension of face-to-face classes, Don Bosco Technical Institute Tarlac continues to provide meaningful learning experiences to its Bosconians through technology integration.
On July 22, 2025, 16 Grade 9 students from Don Bosco Tarlac participated virtually in "Hello World Classroom," an online cultural exchange program held with 35 students from Hakodate Junior High School in Japan.
The online session featured eight breakout rooms, where Bosconians and Japanese students engaged in discussions on various topics including culture, food, education, music, sports, and local events.
Fr. Daniel R. Gonzales, SDB, principal of the Grade School and Junior High School Departments, initiated the online cultural exchange program and says that โ[Don Bosco Tarlac] has been administering these cultural exchange sessions since last school year and will continue to do so throughout the school year.โ
Furthermore, Fr. Daniel notes that this programโs goal is to help Bosconians develop critical 21st-century skills, including communication and digital literacy, gain a deeper understanding of cultural diversity, and prepare them to act as responsible global citizens who can engage with and contribute to the international community.ย
โDespite the inclement weather, that didn't stop us from having meaningful conversations with the Japanese students. We shared a lot of ideas, and I'm thankful po for the experience I got, and I enjoyed it very much,โ said Miguel Angel Santos, a participant and a Grade 9 Bosconian.
The โHello World Classroomโ reflects Don Bosco Tarlacโs commitment to innovation in education, integrating global exposure into its curriculum to ensure students remain engaged, future-ready, and responsive to the demands of a fast-changing world.
