WEEK 14 - DECEMBER 3, 2023
Sundays Games featured the 1st Game of the Final Round best-of-3 series in both divisions and the battle for third place. Game 1 was supposed to be a battle for third by the classes of 2012 and 2014, but since both batches elected not to play, a coin toss was held to identify the 3rd and 4th place in the Young Blood Division. Game 2 is the first game of the series for the Young Blood Division, which featured a closely fought game in favor of the younger batch, the class of 2019 led by Kenneth Gaviola with 21 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists to defeat the class of 2018 with a score of 87-86. Game 3 is the first game of the series for the Young Once Division, which featured a 33-point beatdown by the class of 2002 led by Dave Navarro performing 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals as they secured 1 win against the undermanned class of 2003.

WEEK 13 - NOVEMBER 26, 2023
Sundays Games featured the 2nd Game of the semi-final round best-of-3 series in both divisions: Games 1 and 4 featured the Young Blood; while Games 2and 3 featured the Young Once. Game 1 was a 6-point game between the classes of 2012 and 2019 where the younger batch emerged as the winners thanks to the contributions of Kenneth Gaviola with 25 points, 2 boards, 3 assists, and a steal. Game 2 was an 11-point game between the classes of 2002 and 1989 with Wey Galiza contributing 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 dimes to end the series. The penultimate game of the week was a 5-point game by 2003 against 2007. Mac Navarro continued to dominate with a triple-double perfomance of 24 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and a steal as a cherry on top. The week's final game was a 17-point beatdown by the class of 2018 to the class of 2014. The younger batch showcased their dominance in the best-of-3 match-up thanks to the monster triple-double performance of John Michael Nabong: 40 points; 10 rebounds; 11 assists; and, 5 steals. WEEK 12 - NOVEMBER 19, 2023
Sundays Games featured the start of the semi-final round in both divisions: Games 1 and 2 featured the Young Blood; while Games 3 and 4 featured the Young Once. Game 1 was a 10-point game between the classes of 2014 and 2018 where the younger batch emerged as the winners thanks to the contributions of Marc Castañeda with 28 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Game 2 was a 6-point game between the classes of 2012 and 2019 with Cris Castañeda contributing 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals lead the series. The penultimate game of the week was a beatdown of 18 points by 2002 against 1989. Francis Sarmiento contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The week's final game was a closely-contested showdown between the class of 2003 and the class of 2007. The elder batch prevailed to lead the best-of-3 match-up thanks to the double-double performance of Marvin Chan: 28 points; 10 rebounds. Onto the semis for both divisions next weekend!

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '23 continues on November 19, 2023. There will be no games on November 18, 2023 to give way for the school intramurals opening. All games this week is the first game of the semi-final round best of 3 series. Game 1 will be at 2:00 PM with the class of 2014 against the class of 2018. 2nd Game is at 3:00 PM game between 2012 and 2019. The penultimate game is at 4:00 PM between the class of 1989 and 2002. The final game this week is at 5:00 PM between the class of 20030 and the class of 2007.
Who will move on to the final round in each division? Who will emerge victorious and bring home the trophy this coming homecoming? Will it be the high-scoring 2014 or the division-leading 2018 - the former coming from defeating 2013 twice or the latter who has skipped the quarter-finals to wait for the opponent? Rest or rust? Will it be the 1-2 punch of 2012 or the young core of 2019 - the former eliminating 2011 while the latter defeating 2022 twice? Who is hungrier? For the other more senior division, will the second-place 2002 win their trip back to the finals, or will the most senior batch gain superiority? Experience or length? And finally, will the division-leading 2007 earn their stint to the finals or will the streaking dark horse 2003 continue their hot streak. Favorites or dark horse.
WEEK 11 - NOVEMBER 11 & 12, 2023
Saturday's Game 1 was a second game between the classes of 2013 and 2014 where the latter beat the twice-to-beat former thanks to the combined efforts of Patrick Lapena and Penny Chua with a contribution of 17 and 19 points, respectively, to advance to the semi-finals. Game 2 was a 48-point beatdown by the class of 2002 against 2004, the elder batch advances to the semi-finals thanks to the efforts of John Ponce with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. The final game for Saturday was another beatdown between the class of 2007 and 2000. Paul Manalang made sure 2007 remains on the winning end with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Sundays Game 1 was a close game between the classes of 2019 and 2022 where the elder batch emerged as the winners and beating their twice-to-beat foe thanks to the contributions of Kenneth Gaviola with 21 points, 6 boards, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. Game 2 was a good game between the classes of 1995 and 2003 with Mac Navarro contributing 26 points and 7 rebounds to help the younger batch reach the semi-final round. The day's final game was a showdown between the class of 1989 against the class of 2005. The elder batch claimed victory catapulting them to the next round thanks to the double-double performance of Marvin Chan: 28 points; 10 rebounds. Onto the semis for both divisions next weekend!

The final game on Saturday is at 6:00 PM, a quarter-finals bout between the class of 2000 and the class of 2007.
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, Game 1 will be the 2nd qame of the quarter-finals showdown between the class of 2019 and 2022. The 2nd Game is the first quarter-finals bout between 1995 and 2003. The final game of the week is a quater-final game between the classes of 1989 and 2005.
WEEK 10 - NOVEMBER 4 & 5, 2023
Saturday's Game 1 was a high-scoring game between the classes of 2013 and 2014. Patrick Lapena and Javee Vergara combined with a contribution of 47 and 44 points, respectively, to seal the game for 2014. Game 2 was a statement game for both classes of 2001 and 2007, where the younger batch retained their place on top of the division thanks to the efforts of CJ Remandaban with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. The class of 2001 continued to be winless this season keeping them at the bottom of the bracket. The final game for Saturday was another beatdown between the class of 2002 and 1989. John Ponce made sure 2002 remains 2nd place in the division with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
Sundays Game 1 was a 10-point game between the classes of 2019 and 2022 where the elder batch emerged as the winners thanks to the combined contributions of Kenneth Gaviola and Philip Peridas with 22 and 24 points, respectively, and Kenneth securing 10 rebounds for good measure. Game 2 was a nail-biter between the classes of 2011 and 2012 with Ralph Reyes contributing a double-double performance with 21 points and 17 rebounds to help the younger batch win. The day's final game was supposed to be a showdown between the class of 2001 against the class of 2003. The younger batch claimed victory via default catapulting them to their 5th-straight win while rendering the class of 2001 without a win to end the elimination round.

Saturday's Game 1 was a close game between the classes of 2002 and 1995. Jonathan Reyes contributed 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists to seal the game for 2002. Game 2 was another close game between the classes of 2000 and 2007, where the younger batch won the game thanks to the combined efforts of Ferdinand Nucum and Jan Cabarios with 12 and 11 points, respectively. The final game for Saturday was another neck-and-neck game between the class of 2005 and 2004. Roberto Bonifacio made his presence felt with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals.
Sundays Game 1 was a close game between the classes of 2003 and 2007 where the elder batch emerged as the winners thanks to the contributions of Mac Navarro with 30 points and 7 rebounds. This is batch 2003's fourth straight win after starting with three straight losses. Game 2 was another nail-biter between the classes of 2000 and 2005 with Roberto Bonifacio once again contributing 21 points and 4 steals to help the younger batch win. The day's final game was supposed to be a showdown between the class of 1989 against the class of 2001. The elder batch claimed victory via default.

Game 2 was a clash between the classes of 2005 and 2001 where the younger batch won the game thanks to Bonifacio's 27 points. The final game for Saturday was a double-digit game between the class of 2018 and 2011. John Michael Nabong made his presence felt with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
Sundays Game 1 was a showdown between the classes of 2022 and 2014 where the younger batch emerged winners thanks to the contributions of Luis Flores with 25 points and 5 assists, 6 rebounds, a steal, and a block. Game 2 was a nail-biter between the classes of 2003 and 1995 with Gerich Dijamco contributing 25 points and 9 rebounds to help the younger batch win their 3rd straight win. The day's final game was a showdown between the class of 1989 against the class of 2004. Allen Gacutan's 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists were enough to help 2004 claim the victory.

The final game for Saturday was a close game between the class of 2018 and 2013. Goy Magbag made his presence felt with a triple-double consisting of 32 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and a steal.

The 3rd game will be a showdown between bottom feeders of the division, 2019 and 2014. The final game of the week is between the leader of the Young Once division, undefeated top-ranked class of 2007 and the class of 2005.

Jonathan Reyes contributed a double-double with 29 points and 19 rebounds to go with 3 assists and 3 blocks to seal the game for 2002. Game 2 was a clash between the class of 2019 and 2011 where the younger batch won the game thanks to Gelo Lacorum's double-double with 13 points and 13 hauled boards. The penultimate game for Saturday is a nailbiter between the class of 1995 and 2004 where Royder Mendoza contributed 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the 1995 victory. The final game for Saturday was another close game between the class of 2012 and 2018. Marc Castañeda made his presence felt with 18 baskets - all on 3-pointers, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

The 3rd game will be a tiebreaker showdown between both 2 wins and 2 losses, 1995 and 2004. The final game on Saturday is between the leaders of the Young Blood division, the 2nd ranked class of 2012 going against the division-leading class of 2018.
On Sunday, October 8, 2023, Game 1 will be a showdown between the class of 2013 against 2014 - both seeking their 2nd win this season. 2nd Game is a bout between 2000 and 2003, the former seeking their 2nd win while the latter gunning for their 1st win. The final game of the week is between the leaders of the Young Once divisiong, top-ranked class of 1989 and 2nd-ranked class of 2007. Both teams also boasts perfect records so far.

Game 2 was a clash between the class of 1989 and 2005 where the eldest batch won the game thanks to Marvin Chan's 24 points and 6 hauled boards. The final game for Saturday was a showcase between the class of 1995 against 2007. Paul Manalang made his presence felt with 14 baskets, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

The penultimate game for Saturday was a showcase between the class of 1989 against 2000. Oliver Zablan made his presence felt to keep the class of 1989 undefeated with 10 baskets, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. The final game of the day was a showdown between the class of 1995 against the class of 2005. Jeng Pamintuan helped 1995 contributing 16 points and 4 rebounds.

Game 2 was a clash between the class of 2005 and 2003 where the younger batch won the close game thanks to Lloyd Salting's 22 points. The final game of the day was a showdown between the class of 2011 against the class of 2012. Ralph Reyes helped 2012 with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Sundays game was an invitational game between the Salesian Educators and the Past Pupils Selection took place where the Past Pupils emerged victorious thanks to the complete game of John Michael Nabong.

OPENING DAY - SEPTEMBER 10, 2023
Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '23 officially kicked off last September 10, 2023. Opening ceremonies commenced at 1:30 PM with fun games for the DBYC scholars. It was followed by the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Shootout. After snacks, an invitational game between the Salesian Educators and the Past Pupils Selection took place where the Past Pupils emerged victorious thanks to the complete game of John Michael Nabong.

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, we will be celebrating the birthday of Br. Nick Aguila, SDB with the formal opening of the DBYCup. Exciting fun and games await the crowd: Br. Nick Skills Challenge; Aguila 3-point Shootout; Exhibition game between select Past Pupils and Salesian Educators; and a game between the class of 2011 and 2014.

WEEK 1 - SEPTEMBER 3, 2023
Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '23 began last September 3, 2023. Game 1 was a match between the class of 1995 and 2001. The second eldest batch in the tournament gained their first win of the series thanks to the presence of Egbert Bognot. Game 2 was a clash between the class of 2018 and 2019 where the elder batch defeated their younger brothers thanks to last year's MVP, John Michael Nabong. The final game of the week was a showdown between the class of 2014 against the class of 2012 on a very close game. The class of 2014 gained first strike thanks to Javee Vergara.
We are still open for sponsorships to co-present this league. Interested parties may approach Commissioner Ric. Castañeda from the class of 1979 or Treasurer Paumee David from the class of 1993.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '23 commences this September 10, 2023 with a 3-point shootout, skills challenge, and exhibition games.
Interested batches may notify Commissioner Ric Castañeda. Orientation and submission of requirements will be on August 31, 2023.
Early bird registration fee of Php. 10,000.00 per team is available until August 31, 2023, while the regular fee is set at Php. 12,000.00. Registration fees cover the expenses for the games (venue and officiating), trophies and prizes, and most importantly, the donation to the DBYC Scholarship Fund. Last season, we are able to shoulder the expenses of 2 scholars.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 continues this December 17-18 2022 as we continue with the semifinal round for the Young Blood Division and begin the final round for the Oldies but Goodies Division. On Saturday, the first game is at 2:00 PM, a Game 2 semifinal match-up between the class of 2010 against the class of 2020 where the younger batch seeks to close the series and advance to the finals while their elder brothers aim on making the series even. The penultimate game of Day 1 is a Game 2 semifinal match between the class of 2018 and the class of 2020 where the elder batch seeks to close the series and advance to the finals while their younger brothers aim on making the series even. Day 1 will be concluded by the first game of the Championship series between the class of 2002 and 2003. The class of 2002 remains undefeated in this tournament as they have advanced to the finals after convincingly defeating the combined classes of 1989 & 1990 in their semi-final series. On the other side is the class of 2003 who made their way to finals after dismissing the class of 2000 on two straight close games.
On Sunday, games will be determined based on the results of Saturday's games. Possible games would be: Game 2 of Oldies but Goodies Division and Game 1 of Young Blood Division; Game 2 of Oldies but Goodies Division Championship and Game 1 of Oldies but Goodies Division Battle for Third; or, Game 3 of Young Blood Division.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 continued last December 10-11, 2022. Game 1 was a semi-final match between the class of 2018 and 2020. The class of 2018 gained their first win of the series thanks to Mark Castañeda's defensive prowess with 5 steals to go with his 20 points. Day 1 was concluded by a semi-final clash between the class of 2000 and 2003 where the younger batch defeated their elder brothers thanks to Mac Navarro's double-double effort of 30 points and 15 rebounds. The class of 2000 is now eliminated from the tournament as the class of 2003 advances to the finals and will be facing the class of 2002 in a best-of-three series.
On Sunday, the lone game was a semi-final match between the class of 2010 against the class of 2012. The class of 2012 gained their first win of the series thanks to Iree Ilagan's dominant performance with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

The class of 2003 gained their first win of the series thanks to Gerich Dijamco's strong presence in the paint. Day 1 was concluded by a quarterfinal do-or-die clash between the class of 2011 and 2020 where the youngest class of the division defeated their twice-to-beat brothers thanks to Robbie Joe Catahan's double-double effort of 19 points and 11 rebounds. The class of 2011 is now eliminated from the tournament as the class of 2020 advances to the semi-finals and will be facing the class of 2018 in a best-of-three series.
On Sunday, Game 1 was a semi-final match between the combined classes of 1989 & 1990 against the undefeated class of 2002. The youngest batch defeated their elder brothers courtesy of Apollo Roque's 22 points and 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Day 1 was concluded by a quarterfinal do-or-die clash between the class of 2003 and 2004 where the class of 2003 won thanks to Mac Navarro's 21 points and 7 rebounds. On Saturday, Game 1 at 3:00 PM will be the last of the eliminations round between the classes of 2007 and 2013. The penultimate game of the day is a quarterfinal match-up between the twice-to-beat class of 2011 against the class of 2020. Day 1 will be concluded with a loser-goes-home quarterfinal match between the classes of 2003 and 2004.
On Sunday, Game 1 will be at 3:00 PM - a quarterfinal match between the classes of 2014 and 2010. Week 13 will be concluded with a semi-final match-up between the combined classes of 1989 & 1990 and the class of 2002. This is the first game in a best-of-three series. The first team to win two games advances to the final round.

The class of 2007 were a no-show en route to their winless elimination in the tournament. 2012, on the other hand, became the top team in the young blood division. Day 1 was concluded by a clash between the class of 2010 and 2018 where the class of 2018 won a close game courtesy of CJ Manalo's 18 scored points and 5 hauled boards.

WEEK 7 - OCTOBER 15-16, 2022
Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 continued last October 15-16, 2022. Game 1 was between the class of 2012 and 2020. The class of 2020 won against the older batch thanks to Wacky Villa Agustin's double-double performance scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Game 2 was between the classes of 2013 and 2010. The class of 2010 defeated their younger brothers courtesy of Audrey Taylan's double-double performance of 31 points and 10 rebounds. The penultimate game of the day featured the class of 1995 versus 2005. The younger team emerged victorious courtesy of Lloyd Salting's 14 points. Day 1 was concluded by a clash between the classes of 2015 and 2007 where the class of 2015 emerged triumphant, concluding a day of nailbiters, thanks to Joseph Uy's 16 points.
On Sunday, Game 1 was between the class of 2013 and 2014. 2014 went home with their second win due to the efforts of Edmin Bucalin with 11 points. Game 2 was a showdown between the classes of 2002 and 2001. The younger batch won the close game thanks to John Ponce's 23 points. Week 7 was concluded with a match-up between the class of 2003 and the combined classes of 1989 and 1990. The oldest among the group drained three points after three points led by Dheeno Lumanlan with 34 points. The class of 2003 gained their first loss after failing to score in their final two possessions after leading 60-59. The classes of 1989 and 1990 drained their four final free throws to secure the win.

Game 2 will begin at 3:00 PM between the classes of 2013 and 2010 where the younger batch seeks their first win. The penultimate game of the day is at 4:30 PM featuring the class of 2005 versus the class of 1995; both teams seeking their first victory. Day 1 will be concluded by a clash between the classes of 2015 and 2007, where the older batch plans on getting their first win.
On Sunday, Game 1 will be at 1:30 PM between the class of 2020 going up against the class of 2008. The class of 2020 is on a 2-game losing streak after winning their first 3 consecutive games. Game 2 is at 3:00 PM between the classes of 2014 and 2010. Week 7 will be concluded with a match-up between the classes of 2003 and the combined classes of 1989 & 1990. The younger 2003 seeks to maintain their perfect record while the oldest from the group, 1989 & 1990, seeks to avenge their first and only loss so far at the hands of the league-leading class of 2002.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 continued last October 8-9, 2022. Game 1 was between the combined classes of 1989 & 1990 and 2002. The class of 2002 kept their winning record against the older batch thanks to Russel Pangilinan's 24 points. Game 2 was between the classes of 2000 and 2005. The class of 2000 defeated their younger brothers courtesy of Tristan Tabamo's 27-point performance. Day 1 was concluded by a clash between the classes of 2011 and 2015 where the class of 2011 emerged triumphant thanks to Peter Joseph Quiroz who notched a double-double, 22 points and 10 rebounds.
On Sunday, Game 1 was between the class of 2020 and 2008. 2008 went home with their second win due to the efforts of Cedrick Ignacio with 25 points. Game 2 was a showdown between the classes of 2014 and 2010. The younger green patch won the nailbiter thanks to Penny Mchale Chua's 15 points. The penultimate game of the week featured the class of 2012 versus 2018. The younger team emerged victorious courtesy of John Michael Nabong's 16 points. Week 6 was concluded with a double overtime match-up between the classes of 2004 and 2001. The class of 2001 survived the beatdown led by Ryan Rico with 25 points and 7 rebounds.

The class of 2012 dominated the older batch thanks to Iree Ilagan's 28 points. Iree has score 20+ points in his last 3 games averaging 24.7 per game. Game 2 was between the classes of 2003 and 2005. The older 2003 defeated their younger brothers courtesy of Mac Navarro's double-double performance of 17 points and 18 rebounds. Day 1 was concluded by a clash between the classes of 2015 and 2020 where the class of 2020 emerged triumphant thanks to a buzzer-beater three by Janz Biag, he also notched 33 points.

Dynasty 2002 once again dominated the younger batch with a commanding lead thanks to Richard Ansley Castaneda's 15 points. Game 2 was between the classes of 2008 and 2015. The younger 2015 defeated their big brothers courtesy of Jap Daruma's 31 points. Day 1 was concluded by a clash between the classes of 2010 and 2012 where the class of 2012 emerged triumphant thanks again to a wonderful performance by John Iree Ilagan with 25 points.
On Sunday, Game 1 was between the class of 2020 and 2013. 2020 goes home with a 2-0 record due to the efforts of JJ Biag with 18 points. Game 2 was a showdown between the classes of 2007 and 2018. The younger 2018 defeated the seniors of their category thanks to John Michael Nabong's 25 points. The penultimate game of the week featured the class of 2001 versus the combined class of 1989 & 1990. The most senior of their group showed no mercy with a 15-point lead headed by Oliver Zablan with 26 points. Week 3 was concluded with a match-up between the classes of 2000 and 2003. The younger class of 2003 escaped again as victors led by their muscle man, Gerich Dijamco with 24 points and 6 rebounds.

DON BOSCO YOUTH CUP REFEREES UNDERGO FIRST AID TRAINING
SANTO CRISTO, TARLAC CITY - Nurse Chad Angelo Torres from the class of 2007, together with the school nurses of Don Bosco conducted a basic first aid training to equip our SBP-Tarlac referees and DBTPPA officials thereby ensuring safety and readiness during our Don Bosco Youth Cup Games. The training was held at the Audiovisual Room last September 17, 2022. Representing the Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupils Association Officers and Board of Directors were Treasurer Paumee David from the class of 1993 and Commissioner Ric Castañeda from the class of 1979. Nurse Chad was joined by Nurse Chay Calma and Nurse Igo Dela Cruz. TO our school nurses, thank you for sharing your time, energy, and wisdom to our referees.
To further ensure safety, players are enjoined to monitor their health and exercise regularly, eat healthily, and to arrive earlier than their scheduled games to be able to give ample time for stretching and warm-up. Likewise, each players are reminded to also cool down after their games.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 kicked off last September 4, 2022. Opening ceremonies was highlighted by the blessing of the newly painted gym and the players, organizers, and officiating team followed by snacks, then Skills Challenge and, 3 Point Shootout at 2:00 PM. CJ Remandaban from the class of 2007 dominated both categories. Game 1 was between the combined classes of 1989 and 1990 winning against the class of 1995 with a score of 55-49. John Gomez from the class of 1990 was heralded as the player of the game with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 1 block. Game 2 was between the classes of 2007 and 2011. The class of 2011 dominated the game with a score of 78-57. Earvin Gared Bermudo from the class of 2011 was chosen as the player of the game with 15 points, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

ORIENTATION DAY
Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 team captains and batch representatives attended the orientation given by Commissioner Ric Castañeda and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Tarlac City Referees scheduled last August 13, 2022, in preparation for the opening games. The schedule of opening games is still being finalized as the gym is currently being repainted.

Don Bosco Youth Cup Season '22 commences this August 16, 2022 with a free basketball clinic for DBYC scholars, 3-point shootout, skills challenge, and exhibition games.
Interested batches may notify Commissioner Ric Castañeda before July 31, 2022. Orientation and submission of requirements will be on August 13, 2022.
Early bird registration fee at Php. 10,000.00 per team is available until July 31, 2022, while the regular fee is set at Php. 12,000.00. Registration fees cover the expenses for the games (venue and officiating), trophies and prizes, and most importantly, the donation to the DBYC Scholarship Fund.
Regular games will be every Saturday and Sunday beginning on August 20, 2022.
