Tarlac City, Philippines — Don Bosco Tarlac convened a coordination meeting with Barangay Sto. Cristo officials, led by Chairman Brgy. Captain Jesus Ibarra, alongside representatives from Sto. Cristo Integrated School, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Tarlac City, and the Tarlac City Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), to tackle the growing issue of traffic congestion during peak hours around the school’s main campus.
The meeting centered on Don Bosco Tarlac’s proposed traffic mitigation plan, which aims to ease bottlenecks at critical points near the campus, particularly during student drop-off and dismissal times. School administrators presented strategies such as designated tricycle unloading zones, stricter enforcement of parking regulations along Salazar Street, and improved gate management to ensure smoother vehicle flow.
Fr. Joji Inocentes III, SDB expressed full support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the school and local government units. “Traffic management is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can ensure the safety and convenience of our students, parents, and the wider community,” he said.
Representatives from Sto. Cristo Integrated School echoed the need for coordinated efforts, noting that congestion affects not only Don Bosco but also neighboring institutions. The PNP and POSO pledged to provide manpower and enforcement support, including traffic marshals and stricter monitoring of illegal parking and gate violations.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to pilot the proposed measures in the coming weeks, with continuous evaluation and adjustments based on community feedback. Don Bosco Tarlac underscored that the initiative is part of its broader mission to foster a safe and orderly environment for holistic education.
When entering and exiting the campus, there are 3 available gates:
The Main Gate is available for daily Mass goers and drop-and-go in the morning. Those who have transactions with the cashier and the registrar who are without vehicles may still use the pedestrian gate while those with vehicles and hop-in-and-go of students during dismissal are asked to utilize the parking at the back of the gym and use the gym gate.
The Parking Entrance Gate (Juan Luna St.) is available for access to the parking lot, the Savio (Kinder) Gate, and the Gym Gate.
The Savio (Preschool) Gate is exclusively for Nursery, Kinder, Grade 1 & 2 students when entering and for Nursery up to Grade 6 when exiting.
