Blood is a vital resource in saving lives during medical emergencies, surgeries, and treatments for chronic illnesses. However, hospitals often face shortages, leaving patients and families in urgent need. The Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupils Association, guided by Salesian values of service and solidarity, seeks to address this need through the Dugong-Busko Blood Drive.
This initiative not only provides a reliable supply of blood for students, employees, and past pupils but also fosters a culture of generosity, volunteerism, and community care. By organizing regular blood-letting activities, the association strengthens its commitment to holistic formation and social responsibility.
Ensure Availability of Blood: Provide accessible blood units for family members of students, employees, and past pupils in times of medical need.
Promote Volunteerism: Encourage a culture of service and solidarity among the Don Bosco Tarlac community.
Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with hospitals, laboratories, and health agencies to ensure safe and efficient blood collection and distribution.
Sustainability: Establish a continuous and reliable blood donation program through quarterly drives.
Community Impact: Position Don Bosco Tarlac as a proactive institution in supporting public health and humanitarian causes.
1. Quarterly Blood-Letting Drives

Use social media, posters, and assemblies to encourage participation.

Thank you to 55 generous individuals who tried to donate blood this morning. 42 among them were successful in donating blood.
Dugong Busko Blood Drive continues at the main campus in Sto. Cristo - Salesian Family Room until 4 PM.
Lay Mission Partners, parents, alumni, and students participated in the Dugong Busko blood donation drive organized by the Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupil Association (DBTPPA), October 18, 2024.
Angelo Legaspi, animator of the Red Cross Youth Council, described the drive as a success despite falling short of the 100-bag target. "We have collected nearly 70 bags. It was 30 bags away from the target of 100, [but] the bags collected are enough to save some lives and that's what matters now. " Legaspi said.
The event was held in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross – Tarlac Chapter and the Don Bosco Tarlac Red Cross Youth Council.
As part of the initiative, for every four successful blood donors, the school will receive one yellow referral card, which offers fee waivers and priority service at blood banks during emergencies.
